Personal Profile:

Prof. Dr. He Feng, born in 1973, is a researcher and doctoral supervisor in Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He completed his PhD degree majored in environmental science at Institute of Hydrobiology CAS in 2004, and was a visiting scholar at many foreign universities including the University of Cologne (Germany, 1999), Universität für Bodenkultur Wien (Austria, 1999), and International Lake Environmental Committee (Japan, 2001) and he also took part in World Environmental Expo as a member of young scientists in 2005.

Focus on the field of scientific research and engineering application of constructed wetlands and water restoration, he has commitments to complete more than 20 projects including China National Natural Science Fund, Major Science and Technology Program for Water Pollution Control and Treatment of China 10th, 11th and 12th Five-Year Plan, Major Science and Technology Program for Supporting Rural Areas of China 12th Five-Year Plan, Provincial Key Scientific and Technological Project, Wuhan Key Scientific and Technological Project, Wuhan Chengguang Program, etc. He has taken part in nearly 30 projects including The National Outstanding Youth Fund, The UN Major International Joint Research Program, The Innovative Key Project of CAS, etc. 

He has published more than 170 academic papers, among which 53 were published as the first or the corresponding author, and apart in writing 2 books, 1 quality assurance acceptance standard for the construction of constructed wetlands. He has obtained 14 national patents and another 5 national patents are accepted. 

Over 40 projects were designed and constructed under his guidance, such as project of the Constructed Wetlands in Beijing Olympic Forest Park to improve the water quality, the project for ecological protection and comprehensive water treatment of Jinyin Lake in Wuhan city, the project to protect the drinking water of Wanning Reservoir in Hainan province, wetland park project in Wuhan Duanqing River, the project in Wuku, Shanghai, using constructed wetlands to purify wastewater of agricultural science and technology park, waste water treatment project by constructed wetlands in Longgang, Shenzhen, ecological treatment project of comprehensive sewage of the north service area of Hanshi high-speed road, domestic sewage treatment by constructed wetlands in Wenjiao town, Wenchang, Hainan province, the network project of six lakes in Wuhan new district for ecological restoration, etc.
